About me
I primarily work with musculoskeletal pain and functional movement issues.
Treatment is hands-on and guided by assessment, including range of motion testing, orthopedic tests, palpation, anatomy, and the body’s response in each session.
"Great practitioner of acupuncture. I always feel I am in good hands when I see Gareth for treatment. Friendly, calm, professional practitioner with a diverse skill set. Highly recommend him!"

Qualifications
I have 15 years of clinical experience and hold a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture), along with diplomas in Tuina (massage) and Qi Gong from the New Zealand School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have also completed further training in Australia, Japan, and China.

While my training included traditional frameworks, my current practice focuses on hands-on, assessment-based treatment for musculoskeletal pain, movement restriction, stress-related tension, and other persistent physical symptoms. Each session is guided by functional assessment, observation, palpation, and how your body responds to treatment, rather than fixed protocols or theory-based diagnosis.

The aim of treatment is to reduce strain, improve movement, and support functional recovery over time. You don’t need to understand the techniques — sessions are designed around your body’s response.
ACC Accredited
I am a member of the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturists (NZRA) and an ACC Provider.
